Webinar Course Description:

Community Health Centers are often overlooked yet offer a range of valuable resources for patients. This course will detail how Community Health Centers support people with day-to-day needs and challenges. Dental providers will learn how to expand access to care for patients with chronic conditions who lack funds or insurance for medical care, mental health services, or tax preparation. Community Health Centers are becoming more mainstream, yet many providers are unaware of the services available under one roof or how interprofessional collaboration supports person-centered, holistic care. This course will provide the healthcare team with information to help patients who may be struggling with unmet needs.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Apply and interpret assessments to address patient concerns that are not dental-related but affect their daily living.
  • Explain how interprofessional collaboration occurs within a community health center.
  • Develop a list of resources to deliver patient-centered care.
