COURSE INFORMATION & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Several new all-ceramic restorations have significantly influenced the annual number of PFMs performed. CAD/CAM technology in dental laboratories has improved the consistency of these restorations in terms of fit, contact, and occlusion. This discussion will explore full-contour zirconia and lithium disilicate restorations, as well as the appropriate cementation and bonding protocols for these applications. Also, I'd like to explain the reason for repositioning teeth before restoration. A preparation technique that achieves adequate reduction and near-perfect margins will also be demonstrated with relatively little effort.
*After completing this program, the dental professional should be able to:
- Learn how to transform a prepared veneer case into a no-prep veneer case while maintaining its exquisite appearance.
- Examine the various categories of zirconia oxide restorations, their corresponding indications, and the rationale for preferring polished zirconia over glazed zirconia. Explore the different types of zirconia oxide restorations, their indications, and why polished zirconia is preferred over glazed zirconia.
- Acquire the skills necessary to implement a preparation technique that will impress your laboratory by improving the quality of your preparations and impressions.
- Gain insight into full-contour zirconia and lithium disilicate restorations, exploring the benefits and drawbacks of these robust ceramic materials, along with the decontamination and cementation procedures, which include the disadvantages of these high-strength ceramic materials and the protocols for decontamination and cementation.
- Examine the constraints associated with conventional shade guides used by dental professionals and investigate alternatives that can potentially decrease the frequency of shade remakes by 50%.
