Course Description:

When managing a complex case, a general dentist can often benefit from the knowledge and services of our dental specialist colleagues. However, we sometimes hesitate to collaborate with them until problems arise. When should we reach out to them, who should we contact, how do we plan for and stage a complex treatment, how do we communicate effectively, and who is the “officer in charge” when it comes to strategically planning and overseeing patient care to ensure the best outcomes? The team of general dentists, residents, and specialists at the SLC VA Medical Center handles some of the most complex dentistry for highly compromised and challenging patients. Using real cases, they will teach you how to assemble a strong team and how to work effectively with the right dental specialists to achieve optimal results on your complex cases. This approach will lead to happier, more satisfied patients, better collaborations with specialists, and less stress for you, the general dentist.
